PlayStation Store: Open during remodel

Back catalogue, existing PSN accounts will still be accessible

SCEE has indicated that there will be no new content updates for the next two weeks while its PlayStation Store for the European territories is overhauled.

The new look of the site - coming in response to a user survey taken last year - promises a "hugely improved" navigation system, a dynamic new user interface and much greater scope for categorisation.

Although no new content will be added for the next two weeks, users will still have access to the back catalogue and their accounts and virtual wallets will not be affected.

SCEA has not yet confirmed a similar revamp for North America, although it is expected.

Update: SCEA has also announced that there will be no new updates starting April 3 until the revamp of the North American store is completed on April 17.

SCEA said that, after the redesign, the PlayStation Store will "live natively on PS3," enabling customers to more easily and quickly locate and purchase games, demos, videos and other game-related content.
