GameStop confirms acquisition of The Gamesman chain

US retail giant GameStop has confirmed the acquisition of New Zealand's independent chain The Gamesman.

The deal was first revealed last month, and it brings GameStop's presence in the region to a total of 38 stores.

"We are very excited about the union of EB Games and Gamesman," commented Stephen Wilson, MD of EB Games New Zealand.

"Both companies and their staff have a passion for games and now we can bring together the best of both retailers to offer our customers the finest in service and products, both new and pre-owned."
