FIFA holds top spot as game sales drop

Electronic Arts' FIFA 09 remains the best-selling game in the UK's All Format's charts, despite the entire top 40 suffering from a post-Christmas sales decline.

The gap between the number one title and Activision's Call of Duty: World at War is only 400 units, according to data from GfK Chart Track, in a week that saw almost all top 40 sales halve.

Wii Fit was the least affected by the slump, with a decline in sales of only 1 per cent, as it rose up the charts from number 20 to number four.

The top 20 All Formats games in the UK for the week ended January 10 follow:

  • 01 FIFA 09
  • 02 Call of Duty: World at War
  • 03 Need for Speed: Undercover
  • 04 Wii Fit
  • 05 Wii Play
  • 06 Guitar Hero: World Tour
  • 07 Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games
  • 08 Quantum of Solace
  • 09 Lego Indiana Jones: Original Adventures
  • 10 Mario Kart Wii
  • 11 Carnival: Funfair Games
  • 12 Far Cry 2
  • 13 Dr Kawashima's Brain Training
  • 14 Fallout 3
  • 15 Gears of War 2
  • 16 Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock
  • 17 100 Classic Book Collection
  • 18 Lego Batman: The Videogame
  • 19 Sonic Unleashed
  • 20 Prince of Persia
