EA changed under Riccitiello, says Cousins

Ben Cousins, executive producer at DICE, believes EA has changed for the better since John Riccitiello took over as CEO.

During an interview with GamesIndustry.biz, the lead producer behind Battlefield Heroes spoke of his working relationship with EA and how he "didn't recognize" the company everyone had warned him about.

"Before I joined DICE you hear stories about what it's like to work at a company that's just been bought by EA, but I just don't recognize the company that people used to describe," Cousins explained.

"I think it's changed since John Riccitiello, but I think it was never as bad as people thought," he added.

John Riccitiello rejoined EA as CEO last year and implemented a new label structure with the intention of allowing development studios more freedom and creativity in a bid to avoid some of the high profile failures from the past, such as Bullfrog.

The publisher is currently embroiled in a protracted bid to acquire Take-Two, although there's been no real movement since the release of Grand Theft Auto IV on April 29.

The full interview with Ben Cousins is now online.
