The Beatles: Rock Band to get re-mastered music boost

Twelve digitally re-mastered albums to be released on same day as Harmonix game

The release of The Beatles: Rock Band is to receive a marketing boost by going on sale on the same day as the release of all 12 Beatles albums digitally re-masted for the first time.

Both the game and the CDs, along with box sets and other limited edition products, will hit stores on September 9 this year.

The Beatles: Rock Band is the latest spin-off from Harmonix's popular music game, and the first time that Apple Corps has agreed to license The Beatles' back catalogue to a videogame.

The title will be released on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Nintendo Wii, and be available in three different SKUs – as a stand alone game priced USD 59, with guitar for USD 99, and with full band kit for USD 249.

Apple Corps, MTV Games and Harmonix have also promised exclusive content to consumers who pre-order the game.
