Eurogamer Italia goes live

The Eurogamer Network has launched its sixth European-language site, Eurogamer Italia.

Former Xbox Magazine, OPM and Edge Italy veteran Alberto Belli joins the company as publishing director of the site, with Luca De Dominicis taking the position of managing director.

"Our local sites are quickly gaining readers and advertisers across Europe and we expect our Italian venture to follow suit," said Rupert Loman, managing director of Eurogamer.

"We've taken our time to find our partners in each country, but we’re delighted with the choices we have made and we look forward to working with Luca and Alberto."

Eurogamer now has local editorial and sales teams in the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Holland and Portugal, with Eurogamer Italia the fourth site to launch this year.

"We're really proud to publish Eurogamer here in Italy, pushing one of the most important editorial brands in the world and the number one in Europe," commented Luca De Dominicis.

"We're sure that the Italian audience will appreciate the quality and richness of content and interactive tools Eurogamer has to offer. It's a dream for our journalists, customers and the Italian games industry too."

Eurogamer Italia has also partnered Gameland to be the official media partner of the biggest console videogames tournament in Europe, with over 4000 players competing for a EUR 80,000 prize pool in Rome this December.

Eurogamer also publishes GamesIndustry.biz.

GamesIndustry.biz is the world's most read and influential games industry website. But don't just take our word for it!

"We're big fans of GamesIndustry.biz. By some measure, it's the best games trade site out there — and I'm including the US ones, too. It's a true must-read site, and several times a day at that. The team have done a great job building it to such a position of strength."
