Kickstarter UK has raised £26m for games

And has raised £100m since 2012 overall

New stats have come in for the UK side of crowd-funding site Kickstarter and they reveal that of the £100 million that have been raised in the UK £26 million is for game campaigns. The games sector received 609,724 pledges.

Over all categories in the UK more than 1.8 million pledges made by over 1.2 million backers since 2012. 20,651 projects have so far appeared on Kickstarter UK, and 8,181 of those have been successful.

"From our very first project that launched in the UK, British creators and backers have been a huge part of our global community; backing projects all over the world, championing creativity and helping to build a more diverse culture," said Kickstarter CEO Yancey Strickler, and as reported by Develop.
