Nine new titles in top twenty, but Black and White nears four million sales to date

A total of nine new entries in the Japanese software chart this week have failed to shift Pokemon Black and White from the top spot, as the latest in the series almost reaches four million unit sales to date.

Slots two, three, four and five were taken by fresh titles, with Macross F, Kingdom Hearts and Class of Heroes 3 all hitting the top five. Straight in at number four was the PS3 version of Rockstar's Red Dead Redemtion, with the 360 SKU trailing behind it in 7th.

In the hardware charts, sales dipped for the top three consoles, with PSP still on top in terms of individual unit sales. But DSi and DSi LL were second and third, with a combined total which easily eclipses that of PSP.

I am interested in this title.

K-On! After School Live (PSP)

It seems that the PSP has become a great hardware for the Japanese Visual Novel market.

I also have seen a few of them being sold on amazon that are japanese imports and if only I could read Japanese I could have been able to buy them and play them with no problem at all. But since I can't read Japanese I have to just settle with Japanese side scrolling games and Japanese Dance games like Miku Hatsune's Project Diva that I recently got on PSP imported from Japan and I really enjoy that game.

Japanese RPGs since they involve allot of text are also out of my league because of the language barrier, but because they do come out in english in North America that is ok for me to wait, but it is painful with Visual Novels because they are some of the most amazing stories but I could only experience on the PC thanks to the effots from Hirameki, Peach Princess and G Collections.

Still, the day when they start translating Visual Novel games into english on handhelds like the PSP and the Nintendo DS, it will be a happy day for me.

Maybe I should wait and see what happens when the 3DS and the next gen PSP comes out.
