GarageGames development contest

GarageGames has announced a game development contest with a publishing contract for the InstantAction game platform as a grand prize

GarageGames has announced a game development contest with a publishing contract for the InstantAction game platform as a grand prize.

InstantAction is an online portal promising "console-quality" games aimed at a hardcore audience. Although running in a browser window, InstantAction is not based upon Adobe Flash or similar programs but can use GarageGames' proprietary Torque engine or any other game engine.

For the contest, GarageGames is looking for innovative and eye-catching submissions that are easy to pick up and enjoy immediately. All submissions are required to be multiplayer games or include an extensive multiplayer component.

The winning entry will join games made by other well-known industry heavyweights on the new platform. GarageGames plans to roll out InstantAction in January 2008.

The contest finalists will be announced at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco in February.
