GamerDNA secures $3 million funding

GamerDNA has completed USD 3 million in Series A funding led by Flybridge Capital Partners.

The company intends to use the funding to launch an online social networking community for games players.

GamerDNA was previously known as GuildCafe Entertainment, where it operated GuildCafe.com, dedicated to organising groups and games in MMORPGs and multiplayer titles such as Call of Duty and Halo.

"GuildCafe.com taught us a lot about the MMORPG market, and now we'll use that knowledge to expand beyond it," commented Jon Radoff, GamerDNA's CEO.

"Our team consists of devoted gamers. The most exciting aspect of this expansion is that we're building the gaming community we've always wanted to join."

As well as launching the site, the company will open a new office in Cambridge, Massachussetts.

"Great companies are built by people who really understand their customers," said Jon Karlen, general partner of Flybridge Capital Partners and a member of GamerDNA's board of directors.

"We're excited about building a place for gamers, led by a team of seasoned entrepreneurs who are also avid gamers themselves."

The company previously received USD 600,000 of seed funding from Flybridge Capital Partners in July 2007.

GamesIndustry.biz is the world's most read and influential games industry website. But don't just take our word for it!

"GamesIndustry.biz is one of my starting tabs when I boot up... so it's always one of the first sites I see each day. It's good being able to catch up with what's happened in the US overnight, and in the UK before I'm awake first thing, and know that the stories will be accurate and thought out."
