Microids opens new studio in China

Subsidiary opening continues publisher expansion into Asia

Today publisher Microids announced that it has opened a new office location in China.

The company said that with the subsidiary Microids China it aims to foster new business partnerships locally and distribute its titles.

In its announcement, Microids explained that 85% of its revenue comes from outside of its country of origin, France, with a 50% growth year-on-year over the past four years. The opening of a Chinese office marks its intention to continue expanding its operations internationally.

In 2019 the publisher opened an office location in Japan.

Microids China will be represented by Wenbin Zhang working alongside Microids senior vice president of strategic partnerships Yves Bléhaut.

"The opening of this new office in China is a new step in Microids's expansion strategy," said Microids CEO Stéphane Longeard.

"Thanks to our strong presence in the European market with our iconic licenses, we are looking forward to introducing our titles to a new audience and tie up new relationships with local companies to offer our worldwide expertise in terms of publishing and distribution."
