Zynga names Doug Scott new CMO

Former DeNA and EA marketer adds to ongoing executive overhaul at social game publisher

Zynga continues to see turnover in its executive ranks, as the company has brought on a new chief marketing officer. As reported by VentureBeat, Zynga has appointed Doug Scott to the CMO position.

While Scott joins the company from a stint as CMO for Google acquisition BandPage (which was folded into YouTube Music), he has roots in the games industry. Prior to joining BandPage, he was VP of marketing and revenue at DeNA, and spent more than five years in the mid-2000s with Electronic Arts.

The most recent C-level overhaul for the company began in March with Frank Gibeau's appointment to the CEO position. Bernard Kim signing on as president of publishing in June, and Matt Bromberg joined as COO in August. Like Scott, all three men have significant previous experience at EA.

Zynga's previous CMO, Jennifer Nuckles, left the company in July and now serves in the same role for Doctor on Demand, a telemedicine company using video chat to provide urgent care.
