Yukes establishes North American office

Osaka-based developer Yukes has announced the establishment of its first North American office, continuing the company's push towards multi-platform software publishing.

Osaka-based developer Yuke's has announced the establishment of its first North American office, continuing the company's push towards multi-platform software publishing.

The developer is most renowned for its creation of various wrestling titles, including Konami's Rumble Roses and the longstanding WWE Smackdown series for minority share holder THQ.

Yuke's Company of America will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of Yuke's Company Ltd, and intends to publish its first PlayStation 2 title for the Western market next month.

The company's future ambitions centre on the publishing of various titles for both current and next-gen platforms and handheld devices, including the PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, PSP and Xbox 360, although no specific new game announcements have been made to date.
