Yoshi headlines all-star Christmas cast for American DS

With news of massive worldwide DS sales still booming around boardrooms, Nintendo of America has unveiled its fourth-quarter handheld line-up - with a raft of big names out to sustain the system's momentum.

With news of massive worldwide DS sales still booming around boardrooms, Nintendo of America has unveiled its fourth-quarter handheld line-up - with a raft of big names out to sustain the system's momentum.

Headlining the US Q4 cast is Yoshi's Island 2 - sequel to one of the Super Nintendo's most critically acclaimed platform games - which is due out on November 13th.

Yoshi - a character that, in this context, enjoys status practically comparable to Mario - is backed up by other Nintendo stalwarts including Pokemon (Pokîmon Ranger - October 30) and Kirby (Kirby Squeak Squad - December 4).

Nintendo's hardcore base is also well catered to, with the latest Mana RPG from Square-Enix, Children of Mana, set to launch on October 30th. Other titles in the US line-up include the Dalmatian edition of Nintendogs.
