Xbox 360 HD-DVD priced and dated for Japan

Microsoft has revealed the price of the HD-DVD movie player for the Xbox 360, along with new hardware bundles, exclusive software and peripheral prices ahead of the Tokyo Game Show

Microsoft has begun to woo the Japanese market ahead of this years' Tokyo Game Show by revealing the price of the HD-DVD movie player for the Xbox 360, along with new hardware bundles, exclusive software and peripheral prices.

"There's never been a more important Tokyo Game Show for Microsoft," stated Peter Moore at a press conference in Tokyo's Shibuya district, as he revealed exclusive Live Arcade and new role-playing games for the region.

The HD-DVD drive will retail for 20,790 Yen (141 Euro / GBP 95), and will be available to buy on November 22nd.

As part of a concerted effort to win over Japanese consumers, Microsoft has promised around 50 exclusive titles for the market.

Two new role-playing games have been revealed for the region - Trusty Bell from Namco Bandai and Infinite Discovery from developer Tri-Ace.

Upcoming exclusive Xbox Live Arcade titles will include Yie Ar Kung Fu, Rush n' Attack and Ms. Pac-Man.

November 2nd will see the launch of a range of peripherals for the Japanese market, with the Xbox Live Vision camera, bundled with a copy of UNO and one month of access to Xbox Live Gold, retailing for 4200 Yen (28 Euro).

Also due on the same day is the Xbox 360 wireless headset, which will sell for 6300 Yen (42 Euro).

A new core system has also been officially unveiled for the region, retailing for 29,800 Yen (201 Euro) with copies of Project Gotham Racing 3 and Ninety-Nine Nights.

Prices were also revealed for upcoming 360 titles Dead or Alive Extreme 2 (9240 Yen / 62 Euro) and Lost Planet (8379 Yen / 56 Euro), to be released on November 22nd and December 22nd, respectively.
