The organisers of this year's Game Developers Conference have announced that Will Wright, creator of The Sims and forthcoming PC title Spore, will deliver a keynote speech at the event.

Wright's hour-long presentation, scheduled to kick off at 12pm on Thursday March 23rd, will focus on "next-generation game design and development strategies."

Wright is best known for creating Sim City and The Sims. He co-founded developer Maxis, which was later acquired by Electronic Arts.

It's not yet known whether Wright will discuss Spore, which is also rumoured to be in development for Xbox 360. The game allows players to take a single-celled organism and control its evolution into a giant entity, and share their creations with others online.
