Stockholm, Sweden -- Swedish game developer Jadestone is today happy to announce the release of Kodo from its confinement. Following extensive research and evaluation, this digital life form is now deemed to be sufficiently controllable to meet the public. Unfortunately, it has not been possible to contain the Kodo effect. People are already crowding around mobiles to eat their opponents before they get eaten themselves.
Using just one button each player controls his Kodo in this fast paced game that's all about being the last survivor. The game is the world's first where there can be as many simultaneous players as there are available buttons on the phone. With more than six players things start to become difficult, but the theoretical limit on some phone models is a staggering 26 players!
- There is a great demand for quality games on mobile phones today. However, most games have not been developed in the same way as the mobile phones and this is something that we believe we are set to change. Our vision has always been to create the perfect gaming experience - regardless of age, sex or location, said Tommy Palm, Head of Research at Jadestone. Kodo is a simple game, but similar to many Asian games in that it has many levels and is very much about tactics and timing. You can enjoy the game by yourself, but it's really when you're playing with friends that you experience the full Kodo effect. Even before this game has been released we've been approached by many interested mobile operators and portals.
Kodo is launched globally with partner TelcoGames and is avalaible in a mobile phone near you. Please visit www.mykodo.com - Kodo's natural habitat on the Net.
As for the name, well, Kodo takes its name from the munching sound you hear when Kodo eats.
