The World Cyber Games has announced the details for the WCG 2007 Grand Final to be held in Seattle, Washington this October

The World Cyber Games has announced the details for the WCG 2007 Grand Final to be held in Seattle, Washington this October.

More than 1.5 million players worldwide battled for a spot on their respective national teams. The field has now been narrowed down to 700 gamers representing 74 countries.

Participants are competing for medals and a share of USD 500,000 in cash and prizes.

"This year's gamers are phenomenal and with a record 74 countries competing in 2007, the Grand Final is sure to be the best event in our seven year history," said Hyoung-Seok Kim, CEO of International Cyber Marketing, organiser of the WCG.

"The addition of Samsung Mobile, Razer, Thermaltake, Kingston, AMD, Sapphire and Samsung Optical Disc Drive (TSST) to our list of current sponsors provides us with the biggest and strongest roster of partners we've ever had."

Additional partners include Microsoft, Circuit City, Spike TV, Philips amBX, ProCurve Networking by HP, and Samsung Digital Camera.

Competitors will include the 2006 PGR 3 champion, Wesley Cwiklo of the US, the 2006 Counter-Strike champion, PGS Gaming of Poland, FIFA '07 champions Daniel and Dennis Schellhase from Germany, and Warcraft 2005 and 2006 champion Xiofeng Li of China.

In addition to watching these players battle it out on 12 different PC and Xbox 360 games, the World Cyber Games will provide spectators and participants with a number of educational symposiums and speaking engagements free of charge.
