Virtual Worlds Camp 2

Part of the Berlin Webinale, and concentrating on virtual goods.

Berlin, 4.05.2009: On Tuesday 26th May Frogster will be presenting the second part of its Virtual World Camp in the Berlin Congress Centre at the Alexanderplatz. Embedded into the ‘Webinale’ Internet conference, the single day Virtual World Camp will revolve around main trends in the online gaming sector and will have virtual goods as its key theme.

Short dissertations from designated experts will bridge thematically between three-dimensional virtual worlds and web-based services. In around 15 sessions, leading guest speakers from the games industry, Internet businesses, the Web 2.0 scene, from associations, agencies and the scientific field will be giving insights into the main theme of virtual goods as well as current trends and developments in download portals, social communities, mobile Internet and online payment systems. Among others, Frogster already has confirmed as speakers; Frank Campbell, Marketing Director at Mindark, the developer and operator of the ‘Entropia Universe’ MMORPG, Claas Oehler, Managing Director of the German Developer Association G.A.M.E. as well as Justin Stolzenberg, Director of New Media at Computec Media AG.

Once again following the informal ‘Bar Camps’ meeting model, all of the Virtual World Camp 2 sessions have been conceived as half-hour guest dissertations on selected themes followed by a discussion. The open presentation format offers the opportunity for spontaneous exchanges at any time which can then be expanded on during the break periods. Frogster has already started the Virtual Worlds camp 2 blog which will break all of the news and latest information as it happens: http://vwc.frogster-ip.de/.
