Video Game Auctions kicks off the quiet revolution

New auction portal grabs gamers attention and attracts traders from across the globe

24/06/05 - Brand-new auction portal www.videogameauctions.com (VGA) looks set to revolutionise the sale of videogames and related items online, after almost 400 users signed up to the fledging service in less than a month.

So far, VGA has attracted gamers from more than 20 counties around the world, who have registered to buy, sell and trade items through the site. A growing army of visitors are helping VGA to make an international name for itself, thanks to active traders and vocal support on internet forums from countries including America, Japan, Australia, France, Spain, Germany and the UK.

As the only internet auction portal aimed 100% at gamers, VGA has already notched up an impressive 17,590 visits, producing more than 468,672 page views. As an incentive to attract members to this exciting new service, VGA are currently waiving all fees on auctions posted. Competitive listing fees will be slowly rolled out across the site on a date to be announced shortly, with VGA guaranteeing no nasty surprises.

Founded and operated by a team of passionate gamers, VGA enforces a strict anti-piracy policy and is currently seeking advice from ELSPA to this end. Monitoring auction listings on a regular basis and dealing with suspect items immediately, the VGA admin team are briefed on what to look for, and will always be proactive - not leaving it to members to highlight and report illegal or copyright infringing materials.

Of the successful launch of VGA, Proprietor Steve Lucas says:

"I'm delighted with the number of gamers who have already signed up to VGA in our first month. Many of these are already coming back again and again. Thanks to our growing membership we've already had some incredibly rare items traded on the site to great response.

"We've given gamers another choice, and I'm happy that so many have chosen to support us by visiting the site, or signing up as a member. VGA offers an exciting and viable auction alternative, because our visits come to the site looking for their next gaming fix, and aren't stopping by on the hunt for a Ford Capri gearbox or a 12-inch vinyl Cliff Richard import."

VGA offers a vast range of more than 350 listing categories -offering gamers the chance to sell absolutely anything related to gaming, from retro games consoles to full-size coin-ops, PC hardware and the very latest Xbox titles.

The auction portal also unveils new listing features not found at other online auctions, a wanted section as well as an exciting new swap feature has been included in the site to give gamers a better choice and let them decide exactly how they want to trade.
