Unknown? ANACONDA reveals first information on main characters of Overclocked

Hamburg/Germany: May 23, 2007 - It's noon and dark all around in New York city. Big clouds are hanging from the sky, rain is bucketing down. A heavy shower is gushing on the streets of New York. There's a lot of work to do for the police: Five young people have been found at different places all over New York. They all seem to be traumatized, agitated, nearly not addressable. And they all seem to be victims of an act of violence.

That's all what is obvious about these five young people, and there's nothing more at the moment NYPD can find out about them. Police is bringing them to a mental hospital on Staten Island.

This is the beginning of Overclocked, the new PC adventure game by House of Tales. It's a psycho thriller with a unique narrative. The player is taking control of Dave McNamara, a former army psychiatrist, who has been hired by NYPD to help to find out what happened to these five young people.

It's the unique way of telling its story that is making Overclocked that very special: It's the players task to explore and rebuild the memories of these five patients.

Therefore, the player directly gets into the memories: He is, in a kind of flashback, taking control of the patient he is currently interviewing. So he is literally re-playing their memories to get the information needed.

With every information bit he reveals, the player gets the chance to interview the other patients more dedicated. Piece by piece he will reconstruct a mosaic of events that will show up the whole story of the game, its motives and backgrounds afterwards.

Thus, the player is experiencing the story from its end to the beginning, starting with the latest memories of his patients and getting to the beginning of the tragedy, buried deep down in the brains of these five young people.

Who are these five young people? Who is the player? ANACONDA today reveals some insights on the main characters of Overclocked:

It is Dave McNamara who is the frontman of Overclocked. The 41 year old ex-US army psychiatrist treated the troops of Operation Desert Storm before he left the army in 1999 after a nervous breakdown. Since 2000, he is practicing psychology in

Washington, specialized in post-traumatic mental disorders, released by disasters or strokes of fate.

Jonathan Bayt is one of the young people found in New York. The 20 year old pudgy, chin-bearded guy seems to be and behaves like a homebody.

Also women belong to the group of young people, such as 21 year old Laura Fawcett. She's a fresh cutie with dark hair, seems to be individualistic, but down-to-earth.

Expensive clothes, expensive watch, expensive shoes - 20 year old Cliff Mandrake obviously is self-absorved. McNamara soon notices certain arrogance in his behaviour.

Ray Thornton, 22 years, is a relaxed guy. He's a really clever one, but also has a strong leaning to laziness.

Second woman around is Victoria Montgomery. The slim blonde is 20 years, wearing expensive, but age-based clothing.

ANACONDA today also reveals screenshots from cinematic cut scenes, showing these characters in action during their flashbacks.

Overclocked combines the virtues of highly detailed, pre-rendered backgrounds with a dynamic camera. Cinematic camera movements, panning, zooms and close-ups, together with motion capturing, facial animations, 3D characters, real-time post-processing effects and real-time light/shadows guarantee for the adventure game's exceptional graphics.

Overclocked already receives rave reviews from the games press. International adventure specialists ranked Overclocked #3 as "Most awaited adventure game for 2007" during the Adventure Game Awards hosted on adventuresplanet.it.

ANACONDA will release the new game by House of Tales, the makers of The Moment of Silence, worldwide, starting in German-speaking territories by October 2007.
