UK Charts: GRAW 2 storms to the top

Ubisoft's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 has taken the top spot in the UK All Formats charts — a position that eluded the original despite tremendous sales performance.

Ubisoft's sequel to the BAFTA award winning Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter has stormed to the top of the All Formats charts this week, knocking Square Enix's PS2 exclusive Final Fantasy XII off the number one position.

The original Ghost Recon for Xbox 360 never managed to take the top position despite impressive sales, but the sequel has finally performed exactly one year after the release of the first game.

Final Fantasy XII's two week reign at the top comes to an end as it's pushed down to number two, while Rockstar's budget priced Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories crashes into the charts at number three.

Sega's Sonic and the Secret Rings climbs up one spot to number four, while RealTime World's new IP Crackdown drops three places to number five, and EA's The Sims 2: Seasons also drops three places to number six.

The rest of the top ten is made up of regular performers, with FIFA 07 and Pro Evolution Soccer 6 at seven and eight, respectively, Dr Kawashima's Brain Training at number nine and The Sims 2 at ten.

Nintendo's Mario Vs Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis is the only other new entry in the All Formats top 40 at number 32, while Atari's Bullet Witch scores a hit at number seven in the Xbox 360 charts, and Namco Bandai's The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift slips into number 10 in the PS2 charts.
