UK Charts: Eye Toy holds its position at the top

Sony's Eye Toy has cemented its position as the hit of the summer, with another week at number one in the UK sales charts - while EA's FIFA 2003 benefits from a new budget price point, jumping ahead of Pokemon to number 2.

The two Pokemon titles, meanwhile, drop to numbers three and four respectively. Much of the rest of the top ten is made up of EA's budget re-releases - with Medal of Honor Frontline, Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, James Bond 007 Nightfire and The Sims all in the top ten ranking.

Eye Toy's dominance at the charts is bound to be helped by a prominent featuring at the PlayStation Experience event, which opens its doors at Earls Court tomorrow. A new set of games for the web cam peripheral, called Eye Toy: Groove, is expected to be shown at the event.

Thankfully we're heading out of the dead month of August and into September, which should bring with it some interesting new releases; the only new release in the Top 40 this week is Atari's Beyblade: Let It Rip! which enters at number 28.
