Trion expands service side team

Three appointments made to bolster customer service capabilities of Trion Austin

Trion has hired three new employees to bolster its consumer support teams, with Thor Biafore as customer support manager, Jack Wood as in-game support manager, and Erik DeBill as senior platform billing lead.

Biafore joins the company after spending five years as global director of customer service for Blizzard, while Wood takes up his role after having worked on more than a dozen MMOs with Origin, NCsoft, and Ping 0.

"As Trion continues to promote the industry's shift from packaged-goods software to videogames and entertainment as a service, Thor, Jack, and Erik will help us ensure that ultimately serving the gamer is the key differentiator of the Trion Server-based Games Platform," said Lars Buttler, CEO of Trion.

Craig Parrotte, head of Customer Service, added: "It would be hard to fathom a better Customer Service team to have, with Thor and Jack."

"They both bring such a wealth of knowledge and experiences in what to do - and more importantly, what not to do in regards to supporting the online gamer."

Before taking up his new post at Trion, DeBill spent the last five years at NCsoft, as billing and tools development manager, providing billing solutions for five titles and expansions.

"As we continue to build out the publishing and service capabilities of the Trion Platform in Austin, Erik is a key hire to lead our innovative billing efforts," said Glen Van Datta, Trion’s VP of Engineering and GM at Trion Austin.
