Triangle Game Conference

Stephanie O'Malley Deming participating in the Middleware and Outsourcing Panel.

RALEIGH, N.C. – April 5, 2010 - XLOC, the leading provider of global localization solutions for video games, is excited to announce that President and Co-founder Stephanie O’Malley Deming will be a featured participant on the panel titled “The Benefits of Outsourcing and Middleware” at the 2010 Triangle Game Conference (TGC), being held April 7-8 in Raleigh.

“I am thrilled to be participating in this year’s TGC and excited to speak with my peers about the increasing need for game companies to streamline their processes and build relationships with partners through outsourcing and middleware technologies,” said Deming. “Last year’s event was a huge success and this year we hope to bring even more attention to the expansion of the video games industry in the Triangle area.”

A growing number of developers and publishers are now actively leveraging middleware solutions and outsourcing activities beyond their core business to remain focused on key competencies and enhancing the value of their entertainment offerings to an increasingly global audience. This panel will cover the key business reasons for and benefits of seeking the support of middleware providers and outsourcing partners: mitigation of risk; short and long-term cost savings; streamlining of operations, resources and activities; and the ability to ship higher quality products faster. Additional panel members include: Markus Schneider, Executive VP of Americas and Asia at xaitment; Shaun Kime, Technical Director of Tools at Emergent Game Technologies; Wayne Harvey, Vice President and CTO of Vicious Cycle; and the session will be moderated by Peak 10.

Deming is a software development producer, consultant and operations executive with more than 15 years of experience in worldwide, award-winning, educational and entertainment products for companies including Activision, Electronic Arts, LucasArts, Capcom and 2K Games. She specializes in localizations and has successfully sim-shipped hundreds of language versions of high profile titles including the Guitar Hero™ series, NBA2K™series, the Call of Duty® series, and the Tony Hawk™ series among many others. Stephanie founded XLOC ( www.xloc.com), a company that offers web-based applications for easy localization management, and works as a production consultant for interactive game companies.
