Tournament.com Allies With Day Of Defeat: Source

Skill-Based Gaming Service Adding Popular World War II Shooter To Lineup

Norwich, U.K. - September 5, 2007 - Tournament.com, a pioneer in licensed online PC gaming competition that allows gamers from around the world to win money facing off against one another in their favorite games over the Internet, announced today that they will be adding Day of Defeat: Source to a prolific title line-up that already includes Half-Life 2: Deathmatch and Counter-Strike: Source.

Day of Defeat: Source was released in September 2005 as a standalone, Source-engine-based sequel to the popular Half-Life mod Day of Defeat. It is available in stores and as a Steam download. The first-person shooter, multiplayer-only game pits Axis against Allies on levels based on real World War II battles and offers realistic weapons from the era. Victory is reached when a team captures and maintains control of a complete series of strategic points on the level or destroys enemy targets.

"We realize that variety is the key to keeping online competitive gaming fresh and new," said Richard Skelhorn, Director of Tournament.com. "The addition of Day of Defeat: Source to Tournament.com's stable of titles mirrors this ideal, giving players even more choice when it comes to destroying their competition and getting paid for it."

Even though taking on Axis forces in the game can be treacherous, Tournament.com is committed to creating a safe and secure environment for online gaming. Players start by downloading the client from the Tournament.com website. Once the client is installed and an account has been established with Tournament.com, players can deposit money into their account, or "wallet," for small scale stakes games of Half-Life 2: Deathmatch or Counter-Strike: Source, and soon Day of Defeat: Source.

To ensure responsible gaming, Tournament.com allows users to stake no more than $10 per match and deposit a maximum of $150 in their account each month. The service also provides a ranking system that allows players to view other users' skill levels, and a handicap system to allow players of all levels to play against one another. To use the service, all players must be 18 or older, which Tournament.com enforces with special age verification software that is presented to all players upon installation of the client.
