Tira Wireless secures $13 million investment

Jump Product Suite set for enhancement and expansion

Tira Wireless, provider of mobile content deployment technology and services, has successfully completed its Series C funding round led by Lehman Ventures, which closed at USD 13 million.

Existing investors Brightspark Ventures, Flagship Ventures and Export Development Canada also joined the financing round, and the company will utilise the new investment to expand its existing global support and distribution, as well as enhancing the Tira Jump platform to include all data types such as music and video.

Lehman Ventures' managing director, Tom Banahan, commented: "Tira's unique approach to content deployment, developed from three years of experience preparing content for major publishers, was critical to our decision to invest. The company's ability to productize this experience adapting technical content, refining the deployment process and managing digital assets into the Tira Jump Product Suite is unparalleled in the industry." Banahan will join Tira as a new member of the board, as part of this latest investment round.

Provided under license or as a service through Tira Wireless, the Tira Jump platform enables mobile content developers and publishers to control, adapt, optimise and deploy mobile applications across more than 500 different handsets, and has been adopted by over 80 per cent of the world's leading mobile content publishers to date.

Based on patent-pending technology, the Tira Jump Product Suite manages the entire set of deployment processes of mobile data including planning, adaptation, optimisation, localisation, quality assurance, certification, carrier and portal packaging. The platform currently handles mobile Java and BREW applications for all carriers in North America, Western Europe and some parts of Asia, and Tira intends to expand and develop both the functionality of the service and its global reach.

Mark Skapinker, Tira Wireless chairman and managing partner at Brightspark Ventures, added: "As Tira's first investor, we have been able to watch Tira grow into the market leader in mobile content deployment. This additional capital provides the resources needed to dominate this ever expanding market."
