TIGA Awards Expand For 2007 Event

London, England, 20th December 2007: TIGA, The Independent Game Developers Association, today announced a bigger and even more prestigious annual 2007 awards ceremony that will be take place at the Haymarket Hotel in London on 30th January 2008.

As well as a brand new venue, TIGA is also expanding the voting categories to take into account two new awards: 'best technology', and 'best cross media application of games'. This last award is for a company who provides services or technology cross media (games, web, TV and film).

Commenting on the awards Fred Hasson, TIGA CEO, said "For the 2007 awards we wanted to be able to showcase the vast array of talent that is currently residing in the UK and European development community, and some of the feedback we received from past awards has led us to introduce these new categories." He continued, "By giving our members the chance to also vote on the best technological achievements of the past 12 months, as well as embracing the new platforms and techniques in the cross media category, the TIGA awards are now even more reflective of the European development community as a whole."

Taking place at the Haymarket Hotel, London on the 30th January 2008, the 2007 TIGA awards will be voted on by TIGA members who have until the 7th January to register their nominations.

Best PC game / console game 2007

Best handheld console game 2007

Best mobile game 2007

Best technology 2007

Best cross media application 2007

Best developer 2007

Best player (individual) 2007
