THQ has announced the resignation of Chief Financial Officer and executive vice president Edward Zinser

THQ has announced the resignation of Chief Financial Officer and executive vice president Edward Zinser.

The resignation was by mutual agreement between Zinser and the company and is effective immediately.

THQ has appointed Rasmus van der Colff, vice president and controller, as interim chief financial officer while initiating a search for a permanent replacement.

In a statement, the company indicated that the resignation was "in no way related to the financial condition, results of operations or future prospects of THQ" and also said it intended to make no further comment on the circumstances resulting in the resignation.

"THQ has a deep and experienced management team," said Brian Farrell, THQ's chairman, president and CEO. "We are confident in our position and remain focused on continued execution on our strategy for long-term growth."

Rasmus van der Colff has more than twenty years of accounting and financial experience and has served as vice president and corporate controller of the company since May 2007. He previously held senior accounting and finance positions for companies such as Sun Microsystems and Activision.
