THQ Wireless And BETOMMOROW Announce America's Cup Game For Mobile Phones

International release of branded sailing game launches

WOKING, UK, 02 May 2007 - THQ Wireless (wholly owned by THQ Inc. NASDAQ: THQI) today announced an agreement with BE TOMORROW to publish America's Cup Mobile Racer for mobile handsets internationally.

The mobile sailing game is the exclusive America's Cup branded game and features all the official boats, teams and sailing areas. As an Official Partner and the Official New Media Provider of the 32nd America's Cup, Alcatel-Lucent ensures that the world's leading sailing competition is at the forefront of communication and media innovation. To celebrate the event, Alcatel-Lucent will partner with THQ Wireless to launch this game with mobile operator portals in Europe, Asia and Latin America.

Developed by Be Tomorrow, America's Cup Mobile Racer allows players to take on the enduring challenge of attempting to win the America's Cup sailing Trophy by taking the helm of an official IACC boat in thrilling match racing action. The America's Cup Trophy competition mode is based on official rules: play as any of the 11 challenger teams to earn the right to duel in a ruthless final against defending Team Alinghi.

Overall objectives include improving sailing techniques and sailing the most challenging regattas. Players start off with 9 training modes, ranging from learning basic steering, buoy turns and laylines, departure, to complicated sail masking and race tactics.

Once orientate and rudder skills have been mastered, tactics may come into play: use wind shadows to slow down opponents, or force them into foul to win the regatta. Battling boats also have to defeat numerous weather and geographical adversities. Weather conditions may vary from tropical storms to equatorial doldrums or arctic typhoons. Plenty of geographical objects hinder a boat's path, from sandbanks to reefs to icebergs.

As wind directions often change during races, resulting in new placement of race buoys; innovative displays make sure that the wind direction is always displayed on the player screen, as well as lay lines and zones of sail masking.

With four steps to win the America's Cup Trophy, there is plenty for the dedicated gamer. The Cup's successor must win 4 regattas over 8 matches in qualifying sessions, then complete both the Louis Vuitton Cup Semi-final and Louis Vuitton Cup Final (3 rounds each) before a gruelling AC final match vs. Team Alinghi.

If the coveted Trophy is won, the world-class Team Alinghi boat in unlocked, which can then be selected for a Free Race match, giving the player the opportunity to sail around the world through the most realistic and diverse sceneries, following the same route the sailing teams will be taking in the real competition.

America's Cup Mobile Racer will launch for mobile phones from May 2007.
