Think Pig

RSPCA's charity campaign Facebook game gets infrastructure and hosting from dx.

dx the leading custom hosting solution and services provider dedicated to the games industry, is pleased to announce that it is providing infrastructure, hosting and IP transit for the RSPCA's charity campaign Facebook game ' THINK PIG'.

The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) has launched a social game on Facebook to promote the core messages of their THINK PIG campaign in an entertaining and engaging way. The THINK PIG campaign uses a fun Facebook word game to raise awareness of the standards in which pigs are reared. As well as being entertained, players will learn what labels to look out for to buy higher welfare products in the supermarket. The RSPCA is reaching a new audience through this casual gaming approach.

About the RSPCA

The RSPCA's mission is to, by all lawful means, prevent cruelty, promote kindness to and alleviate suffering of animals. Established in 1824 as the SPCA - Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Royal patronage followed in 1837 and Queen Victoria gave permission to add the royal R in 1840, making us the RSPCA known worldwide today. Find out more about the RSPCA's  heritage. The RSPCA is a registered charity in England and Wales that receives no lottery funding and relies entirely on private donations. The annual running costs (around £124 million in 2008) of the national Society and all our branches are funded almost entirely by donations and legacies. Our patron is Her Majesty the Queen, and vice-patron His Grace the Archbishop of Canterbury.
