TeliaSonera renews Blizzard hosting deal

Network firm to continue to provide services for Warcraft publisher for another 2 years

TeliaSonera has announced that it has concluded a deal to renew its provision of network solutions for World of Warcraft developer and publisher Blizzard.

The deal, to last an additional two years, will further a decade-long relationship which has seen the company provide hosting for Battle.net and World of Warcraft in Europe.

"Customers are in pursuit of the best online gaming experience, and we are aware of the diverse nature of their needs and priorities," said Malin Frenning, president of TeliaSonera International Carrier. "We are striving to provide complete solutions for our customers, enabling the best gaming experience possible, as we look to become the provider of choice to the online gaming industry."

And Blizzard COO Paul Sams added: "Over the years, we've been pleased with TeliaSonera International Carrier’s reliable network and responsive customer service. We needed a carrier that could provide high-quality, low-latency internet connectivity, and TeliaSonera International Carrier has proven its ability to satisfy our European audience."

The recent GamesIndustry.biz interview with TeliaSonera's Vlad Ihora, in which he talks about the changing nature of the internet landscape in Europe, is available now.
