Telcogames appoints new board chairman

Telcogames, a European mobile games distributor, announced that Juan Montes has been appointed as chairman of the board

Telcogames, a European mobile games distributor, announced that Juan Montes has been appointed as chairman of the board.

Montes previously worked for Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, where he helped launch the PlayStation platform, as well as Motorola and Jamdat, where he established the company's European arm.

"I am delighted to be joining Telcogames at this exciting time for them and the industry at large," Montes said.

"2008 already feels like a year of change in the mobile industry and Telcogames are uniquely positioned to take advantage of this. It is for these reasons that I am joining Telcogames and I hope that with my experience and knowledge I will provide advice and direction to take the business forward."

Montes founded and operates Digital Content and Media Limited, and is currently a non-executive director of Distinctive Developments.

"2007 has been a challenging year for Telcogames and for many in the mobile games sector. We are delighted to have secured someone of Juan's calibre joining us as Chairman," said Telcogames CEO Jamie Conyngham.

Montes replaces interim Chairman Hans Lindroth and his appointment is effective immediately.
