Studios team up for War Child fundraiser

Armistice campaign encourages 'peaceful gameplay'

Creators of political and war-based video games have joined War Child's Armistice fundraising campaign.

Wargaming, Ink Studios, Blackmill Games and Positech are all either adding elements into their games, or donating a portion of sales to the initiative, which is designed to encourage peaceful gameplay and support children affected by conflict.

War Child hopes this will become an annual event that will see more games studios and players 'raise awareness and money for children living with the brutality of war'.

Beginning this week, World of Tanks is selling packs of especially designed peace emblems - ranging from $1.99 for a pack of three and $4.99 for a pack of ten - with all proceeds going to the charity.

This will be followed by Democracy 3 donating its net income for the week beginning November 21st, and 1979 Revolution: Black Friday doing the same between November 28th and December 2nd.

Finally, Verdun 1914 will receive a Christmas Truce DLC pack on Steam that is inspired by the famous truce between French, German and British soldiers in 1914, The pack will contain football matches, snwoball fights and the exchange of Christmas cards.
