Street Fighter IV takes top of UK chart

Fighter topples Wii Fit, and becomes fastest selling title in its genre since 1997

Street Fighter IV has debuted at the top of the UK software sales chart, displacing Wii Fit to number two, according to data provided by Chart Track

Capcom's fighter saw 53 per cent of its sales on the PlayStation 3 and 47 per cent on the Xbox 360, and is the fastest selling beat 'em up since the all formats charts started in 1997.

Street Fighter IV is the third consecutive Capcom title to secure the top spot of a February chart, with Devil May Cry 4 and Lost Planet performing well in 2008 and 2007 respectively.

Dawn of War II also debuted in the chart this week at number three, appearing behind Wii Fit which saw sales climb 20 per cent. Ben 10: Alien Force rocketed up the chart from last week's position at number 13 to fourth place.

FIFA 09 secured its place at number five, while Call of Duty: World at War slipped two place to number six. The Sega Mega Drive Ultimate Collection broke into the chart at number seven, followed by Mario Kart Wii which falls to eight and Wii Play which falls to nine.

FEAR 2: Project Origin suffers from increased competition and dives to tenth place, down from number two the previous week.
