Street Fighter IV Championship

In-running betting to be offered during tomorrow's clash following "overwhelming" response from punters.

Wednesday, April 28th 2010: Paddy Power, the leading retail and online bookmaker, has been so overwhelmed with interest in tomorrow's Super Street Fighter IV contest, that it has decided to offer betting in-running.

Tomorrow's match, which takes place at 7:00pm (BST), Central London, is the first time a bookmaker has offered odds on an individual videogame contest. Ryan Hart and Femi Adeboye, two of the country's most respected Street Fighter IV players, will battle against each other in a best-of-three match contest, with the fight streamed live over Paddy Power's website.

During the fight, the odds will change to reflect the match round-by-round, giving punters the opportunity to place opportunistic bets when the odds offered suit.

"The response to the Super Street Fighter IV fight night shows there's a real interest in competitive videogaming as a legitimate sport," says Paddy Power, communications director, Paddy Power. "In-running betting is usually reserved for high-profile sporting events such as football and boxing - but we're now putting additional resources into tomorrow's live streaming in order to offer greater choice for our customers, because the demand is certainly there."

Ryan Hart remains the current favourite at 1/3.

Watch the fight streamed live from 7:00pm tomorrow (April 29th) at www.paddypower.com
