Square Enix to shutter Babylon's Fall in February 2023

The Platinum Games developed title will be removed from storefronts while large scale updates have been halted

Today, Square Enix announced that it will be ending MMORPG Babylon's Fall's service on February 27, 2023.

The gaming firm added that large previously planned updates for the game were shelved and sales of the title will also be coming to a halt.

"In terms of the plan moving forward, season 2 will run until Tuesday, November 29, 2022, as scheduled, and the final season will begin with the maintenance scheduled on the same day, the firm said.

"Following the publication of this announcement, sales of the digital version, as well as the physical version on retailer sites, will draw to a close."

Developed by Platinum Games, Babylon's Fall launched on March 3, 2022.

Following its release the title did not review well amongst critics according to Metacritic.

Eurogamer reported that the game's concurrent PC player count dropped to one person during a week in May.
