Sonic The Hedgehog series has sold 1.5bn copies

Sega Sammy also reveals that 77% of its Persona 5 franchise sales were international

Sega Sammy Holdings revealed that the Sonic The Hedgehog franchise has sold 1.5 billion units as of March 2022.

The sales milestone includes both its full game and free-to-play offerings, the publisher said in its 2022 integrated report.

Sega Sammy also shared the lifetime sales from its other video game IPs.

After launching in the year 2000, the strategy series Total War has amassed 40.4 million units in sales.

Sega's Football Manager and Chain Chronicle franchises have sold 25 million copies each.

Meanwhile the Persona series has sold 15.5 million units since its 1996 debut.

Additionally, Sega Sammy said the Persona 5 series has sold 7.22 million copies globally. As of March 2022, 77% of the Persona 5 sales have been international.

The franchise includes; Persona 5, Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight, Persona 5 Royal, and Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers.
