Shattered Horizon

Five by Five launches digital advertising campaign for Futuremark's FPS.

17 December 2009

Leading digital agency, Five by Five, has created an international digital advertising campaign for Futuremark Games Studio’s first ever video game, ‘Shattered Horizon’.

Designed to educate hardcore gamers about the new technology and create awareness of the game, whilst also driving visits to the website and downloads of the game, the campaign utilised a blend of download and PC channels, alongside targeted competitor advertising.

The test campaign aimed to secure over 10 million page impressions across 12 hardcore gaming and download sites in five days.

James Gallagher, Marketing Planner at Futuremark Games Studio, commented: “Five by Five demonstrated an in-depth understanding of our target audience. Their wealth of experience in reaching the hardcore PC gamer and their results driven approach to online planning made them the ideal partner to help us launch Shattered Horizon.”

Paul David, Head of Digital Media at Five by Five, commented: “Based on our experience in the gaming sector we created an ROI driven campaign to maximise use of Futremark’s budget. We incorporated a testing phase to massively up-scale the game’s launch period - an ambitious but progressive approach to digital which allowed the client to understand the challenges a campaign can face before investing the full budget.”

Five by Five’s other gaming clients include Activision, THQ, and Sony PlayStation.
