Sekultara

Alpha test phase entered for the browser-based game.

The team at ZiCorp Studios have been working hard during the recent alpha test of their new browser based title named Sekultara. The main aim of the recent test was to test usability and tweak the combat system.

After many weeks of testing, the combat system is now looking to be working and balancing well. However, it was felt by all of the alpha testers that the user interface was not efficient or user friendly. Therefore ZiCorp Studios have been back to the design phases of the user interface. They have given us 3 images to look at today.

The first is the ‘Equip’ screen; this is the screen that allows weapons to be equipped on to ‘Fleet Units’. Every unit has a limit on the number of ‘Equip Points’ it is able to equip. The player will select from the weapons they have built in the ‘Weapons Factory’ on planet that they have docked into.

The second is the ‘Manage Fleets’ overview screen. >From this screen the player is able to quickly and easily select any of their fleets, Each ‘Commander’ has their own history as indicated in ‘Commander Krakens Report’ and the ‘Fleet Strength’ indicates the number of fleet units in that fleet. The player is also able to issue various orders to the fleet from this screen.

The third screen is the ‘Achievements’ screen. Achievements are a core part of Sekultara; earning ‘Achievement Points’ will progress a players rank and eventually unlock new ‘Fleet Slots’ and grant a player a new ‘Commander’. There are three types of achievements: Continuous, Opportunity and Hidden; each of which differ in how many times the points are given.

ZiCorp Studios are currently preparing for their second alpha phase. This will incorporate: the new user interface, planet management, achievements and real time galaxy combat. Exact dates for this next phase are yet to be announced. Alpha applicants may apply to the email address posted on http://www.sekultara.com in due course.

ZiCorp Studios are a new independent start up development studio made up of a few individuals from around the world. Their first title, Sekultara is currently in development which will start out as a browser based game and evolve onto the iPhone, Symbian and Android platforms.
