Sega of America has announced that it has named Sean Ratcliffe vice president of marketing effective March 3, 2008.

Ratcliffe has more than fifteen years of experience building mass-market brands and growing videogame businesses for global entertainment companies including Disney Interactive Studios, LEGO Interactive and EA Sports. He successfully launched titles such as The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, Spectrobes and Turok.

"Sean's impressive accomplishments include managing the worldwide launch of hit titles like Harry Potter & The Sorcerer's Stone, the multi-million unit-seller, as well as playing a key role in Disney Interactive's impressive market share growth," said president and COO of Sega of America Simon Jeffery.

"These achievements, coupled with his proven ability to work on a worldwide scale, make Sean a fantastic asset at a global company like Sega."

Ratcliffe will oversee product marketing, advertising and public relations, reporting directly to Jeffery.

"The videogame space is growing at an astounding rate, and Sega is a company with positive momentum and some of the most enduring brands in the industry," Ratcliffe said.
