Scissor Sisters And Superstar DJ's Cut It Up With Worldclass Riders

LONDON - Friday 16th March - This year's Xbox Big Day Out was the biggest ever with chart toppers Scissor Sisters joining the thousands who flocked to the French resort of Val D'Isère from 27th February to 1st March 2007. Spectators saw Europe's top snowboarders battle it out to not only to scoop the main event prize, but to break the world record for the highest air off 'Le Monster' - the biggest hip jump the Alps has ever seen. Spectators braving the heavy snowfall were entertained on the slopes by storming sets from French Superstar DJ Martin Solveig and Drum & Bass heroes Fabio & Grooverider.

Despite the less than ideal weather conditions the competition saw some amazing snowboarding, with French Quiksilver rider Emeric Front scooping the top prize, followed by the UK's Nate Kern and France's Frank Mossonier in second and third place.

The event also saw the launch of Xbox Soundtracks with the Scissor Sisters stopping by the festival. They played an exclusive gig for the assembled media and competition winners and chatted about the track they were inspired to rework to Xbox 360 game footage from Halo Wars. The project is all about finding new musicians who have been inspired by the new generation high-definition graphics of Xbox 360 video games to create new tracks.

Xbox Live members across Europe were also able to get in on the action with a series of Game with Fame sessions direct from the Xbox Big Day Out. Hundreds of gamers logged on to play against top talent from snowboard riders Jakob Wilhelmson and Freddie Austbo to DJs Russ (Cuban Brothers) and Martin Solvieg and Jake and Babydaddy from Scissor Sisters.
