Rockpool Games announces new appointments

UK wireless games developer Rockpool Games has announced that Lorraine Starr and Dave Price, formerly of Acclaim, have joined the company's Manchester studio.

Starr takes on the role of senior producer and will oversee QA, porting and the certification process. She previously held the title of executive producer at Acclaim, working on ATV Racing for PS2 and Xbox and Allstar Baseball for GBA.

Price worked on Acclaim's Xbox, PS2 and PC titles as an artist, and has extensive experience with texturing, 2D and 3D modelling, environment and character modelling.

"It gives me great pleasure to welcome Lorraine and Dave to the Rockpool family," said MD Paul Gouge.

"Their level of expertise and experience will mean they are very at home amongst the exceptional games talent in the Manchester office."

"In addition, Lorraine's appointment means that we are one of the few independent mobile studios who can genuinely claim a world class QA department."

Rockpool is currently developing games for companies such as THQ Wireless, Codemasters, Sorrent, Player One, Mforma and Siemens Mobile. The studio has previously created mobile games based on the Tetris, Worms, WWE, MotoGP and SpongeBob SquarePants brands.
