Rising Star goes mobile

Next month will see publisher release its first project for phones and tablets in Harvest Moon Lil' Farmers

Rising Star Games is finally making the jump to mobile. After more than a dozen years in business, the publisher this week announced it will soon release its first mobile game, Harvest Moon Lil' Farmers for iOS and Android.

While the platforms will be new to Rising Star, the business model won't be. Lil' Farmers will be a premium app with a one-time purchase fee ($3.99/€3.99/£3.99) and no in-app purchases. The game has been made in cooperation with Harvest Moon outfit Natsume as well as studio Daredevil Development, and was intended to be simple enough for young children to play on their own.

"We are thrilled to enter the app market with a title based on Harvest Moon, a series whose name has been synonymous with family-friendly gaming for 20 years", Rising Star managing director Martin Defries said. "We worked in close partnership with the series' originator Natsume for complete authenticity, and partnered with developer Daredevil for its impressive experience in delivering engaging and kid-friendly experiences based on trusted children's brands. We can't wait to share the outstanding results of this combined project with youngsters across the globe."

Harvest Moon Lil' Farmers is set for a worldwide release on May 25.
