"Regrettable distribution problems" hamper Ferrari Challenge sales in UK

But title performing well in rest of Europe, says System 3 CEO Cale

Sales of System 3's first PlayStation 3 title, Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli, have suffered from poor distribution in the UK, according to CEO Mark Cale.

The game was released three week's ago but has failed to break into the top 40 best-selling games in the UK according to Chart Track data. It currently sits at number 16 in the PlayStation 3 chart.

"The UK has a predominantly FPS-orientated market, and coupled with some regrettable distribution problems, we've only just now managed to get the game into all stores," said Cale, speaking during a Eurogamer.net Live Text event.

"The game has done phenomenally well in most European territories, which typically have a large racing following," he added.

The title has been heavily promoted and is currently on show at the British International Motorshow at the Excel centre in London.

Cale is hoping the title will be able to mirror its European success when it's released in the US in late August.

"We're really geared up for the release in the US, with our excellent distribution partners Activision, and we're expecting the game to perform just as well," he said.
