Reboot: Develop capitalising on success to grow again in 2017

Brand new Dubrovnik venue for Croatian conference as audience expected to double

Reboot: Develop may have only just wrapped up in Split, but plans are already afoot to make next year's show even bigger as the Croatian conference moves to a brand new venue in Dubrovnik.

Last week, over 800 attendees flooded to the Le Meridien hotel in Split to watch 84 world-class speakers across five tracks over three days, including highlights from Tim Schafer, Cliff Bleszinski, Chris Avellone, Brenda and John Romero, Rhianna Pratchett, Brian Fargo and Patrice Desilets, who revealed the first ever public footage of the 1666: Amsterdam game for which he has just resecured the rights from Ubisoft.

Next year, the show returns to Dubrovnik from April 20-24, where it will take advantage of the facilities of the brand new five-star Sheraton hotel, offering three levels of accommodation for all budgets. Over 100 speakers have been promised and attendee numbers are expected to grow to around 1,500 as local and international industry figures come together under the Balkan sun. In addition to the five tracks of talks, organiser Damir Đurović is planning networking events and other daily activities, including a return of the now infamous industry football tournament, as gaming's finest tacklers bring a new meaning to the phrase 'industry crunch.'

"We're rapidly earning a well-deserved reputation as one of the highlights of the European developer calendar," said Đurović. "Reboot: Develop combines Croatia's beautiful surroundings and unforgettable cuisine with a world class speaker line-up and and the most talented audience in the industry to create an unforgettable networking and learning environment. This year was incredible, but 2017 is going to be even better."

GamesIndustry.biz will also be partnering with the show for the third year running, hosting panels and bringing you the key news and interviews, as well as some new surprises.

Tickets are on sale for 2017 already, with a special early bird price of just €170 for anyone buying before May 15, 2016. If you want to be part of next year's event, either as a sponsor or a potential speaker, the organisers can be contacted at sponsors@rebootdevelop.hr as of today.

GamesIndustry.biz is a media partner for Reboot: Develop - an agreement which includes covering our travel and accommodation at the event.
