Rebelstar: Tactical Command

Namco Hometek Inc. today released new screenshots for its upcoming turn-based strategy game "Rebelstar: Tactical CommandTM" for the Game Boy® Advance. Nominated as a finalist for GameSpot's "E3 2005 Editors' Choice Award," these new screens feature strategic combat action as the rebels take arms against the Fraylar race.

The Fraylar are a humanoid race known as traders and explorers across the galaxy. They are skinny, fast moving and insect-like in appearance. They don't tend to colonise planets and have a mainly nomadic existence. Because of their travelling nature, and the fact that they are partly resistant to psionic control, they have consistently eluded the clutches of the Arelian empire. They soon established outposts on earth to take advantage of the massive Arelian presence, which provided many opportunities to steal weapons and technology for trading in other parts of the galaxy. They have absolutely no sympathy for any other species, especially humans, and will be quite hostile unless there is a trade deal to be done. They are quite powerful militarily, and more than a match for the Zorn, who cannot rely on their masters' psionic powers for assistance in battle when fighting the Fraylar.

The rebel encounters with Fraylar provide many opportunities for capturing Arelian weapons and equipment. Trade also becomes possible as the resistance begins to capture Arelian bases and is able to trade surplus equipment with the Fraylar for information and other rare items. However, the Fraylar have their own agenda, and would not like to see the Arelians banished from earth. There is a real danger that the Arelians and Fraylar will form an alliance of some kind as the resistance gathers momentum.
