Realtime Worlds wins Hottest Prospect award

APB developer wins technology award for quality and innovation

Realtime World has been awarded a Hottest Prospect merit at this year's Tech Media Invest awards after impressing judges with its innovative technology and enthusiastic staff.

The Dundee-based studio beat off competition from Adjug, Comufy, Huddle and Slicethepie and was handed the award at a ceremony held the Emirates stadium.

Judge and director of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP Brian Henderson commented of the achievement: "Realtime Worlds impressed with the innovative technology behind their games, the quality and vision of their management team and the sheer energy and enthusiasm of their wider employees.

“Videogaming is a fast growing USD 42 billion worldwide industry which spans many platforms. The structural shift to digital makes this industry even more exciting and filled with opportunity for great companies such as RTW."

"Realtime Worlds are delighted to have won the Hottest Prospect award at Tech Media Invest 2009. This is an exciting period for the company as we head towards the launch of APB next year. We are thrilled that the judges appreciated the potential for the company and our people and share our corporate vision, ambition and our enthusiasm for APB," added Realtime Worlds CEO Gary Dale.

The PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP-sponsored Hottest Prospect Award is intended to recognise companies showing promise in being the “next big thing” in the digital world. Those shortlisted were selected for their high growth potential based on submissions, presentations and interviews held throughout the summer.
