Publishers skipping E for All

A Microsoft spokesperson has confirmed to GamesIndustry.biz that the company won't be attending the inaugural E for All Expo

A Microsoft spokesperson has confirmed to GamesIndustry.biz that the company won't be attending the inaugural E for All Expo.

SCEA has also chosen not to participate, focusing instead on E3, Leipzig, TGS, CES, DICE and GDC, according to their spokesperson.

The E for All Expo, organised by IDG World Expo, is scheduled for October 18-21 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. It is being touted as a consumer-oriented replacement for the old E3 show.

Electronic Arts recently announced its participation, and Nintendo's attendance has been confirmed. According to the organiser, THQ, Konami, and Bandai Namco are also currently scheduled to attend.

However, many other publishers such as Midway, Capcom, Sega, and SOE have indicated that they will not be attending.

While not making any official statements, at least one publisher indicated to GamesIndustry.biz that it questioned the return on investment based on the number of attendees and the cost. There were also some concerns with the proximity of the event to the TGS.

IDG could not be reached for comment.
