Portal designer leaves Valve for new Airtight team

Kim Swift joins Airtight as project lead

Portal designer Kim Swift has left Valve to work with Dark Void studio Airtight Games.

Best known for her team lead role on Portal, Swift also held key roles on both Left 4 Dead games. In her new Airtight project lead role, she will lead a team in the development of games aimed at a more diverse audience.

"We are thrilled to work with Kim," said Airtight president Jim Deal. "Her addition to the team represents a strategic move by Airtight Games into new and broader gaming markets."

"I've learned so much and had some amazing experiences at Valve," added Swift. "But when I heard I had the opportunity to work on innovative titles with my friends over at Airtight, I couldn't pass it up."

Airtight was formed in 2004 from several members of FASA Studio. The studio has been credited on over fifty titles and is currently working with Capcom on Dark Void.
